We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering critical logistics and construction support to the HPC project. This is a rare opportunity to take a senior H&S leadership role within a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplined, safety‑critical environment.
The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will oversee all H&S activity across the organisation's operations on the HPC project. You'll act as the focal point for safety standards, culture, compliance and best practice-driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with the site-wide Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan.
You will:
Lead, coach and develop a team of Health & Safety Advisors
Manage the monthly project KPIs, incident reporting and improvement plans
Oversee RAMS, SSOW and all site safety documentation
Act as the delegated Fire Safety Officer for the contract
Collaborate closely with Environmental, Quality and other Tier 1 integrated H&S teams
Ensure compliance with all HPC Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing standards
Participate in audits, inspections, investigations and site-wide safety initiatives
Support training needs analysis, briefings, inductions and continual learning
Maintain safety reporting via platforms such as Notify and InsightThis is a site-based role requiring travel via the HPC bus system (approx. 45 minutes each way).
About You
We're looking for a confident and proactive leader with solid construction or engineering H&S experience. You'll thrive in a collaborative environment and bring strong communication skills, analytical capability and the ability to influence at all levels.
Essential:
Demonstrable experience managing a team of H&S professionals
Strong knowledge of construction H&S legislation and logistics operations
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
CITB Managers & Professionals H&S Test
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Experience in multi‑disciplined, safety‑critical environments
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to pass HPC vetting (3‑year work history required)Desirable:
IOSH accreditation
CSCS (white professional card)
Fire Safety qualifications or fire duties experience
SMSTS
Previous HPC site experience or existing HPC pass
