About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Bid Manager to join a well-established main contractor at their head office in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing high-profile projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare.
As a Bid Manager, you will lead and coordinate the bid process, ensuring timely, high-quality, and compelling submissions. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, your work will directly impact the business’s growth and project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification to final submission
* Develop and maintain bid programmes and deliverables schedules
* Liaise with estimators, planners, designers, and operational teams to develop comprehensive bid responses
* Write, edit, and review technical and non-technical content for PQQs and tenders
* Ensure compliance with client requirements and internal governance procedures
* Manage bid presentations and post-tender clarification processes
* Conduct bid debriefs and support continuous improvement of the bidding function
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Bid Manager role, ideally within the construction or built environment sector
* Strong understanding of bid/tender processes within a main contractor environment
* Excellent communication, writing, and project management skills
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to tight deadlines
* High attention to detail and a methodical approach
* Proficient in MS Office and bid software tools (InDesign experience is a plus)
