SEND Teaching Assistant – SEN School – ChesterSalary: £105 - £115 per day, paid weeklyContract: Full-time long-term and flexible opportunities availableHirecracker Education are working with a Special Educational Needs School in Chester supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex care needs. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join the team, providing personalised support to pupils to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a safe and structured environment.What you’ll be doing:Supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism, and complex care needs in the classroom, tailoring approaches to individual sensory, communication, and learning requirementsDelivering 1:1 or small group interventions focused on personalised learning, social skills, communication, and emotional regulationSupporting pupils’ social, emotional, behavioural, and health needs using positive reinforcement and consistent strategiesEncouraging independence, confidence, and positive peer interactions through tailored supportHelping maintain a calm, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes focus, engagement, and inclusionRequirements:Experience supporting children with SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex care needs in school, care, mental health, social care, therapeutic, community settings or other relevant fieldsAbility to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parentsPatience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with complex needsStrong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt approaches to individual pupilsAn Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenHow to Apply:If you’re passionate about this position, please either apply by clicking online, emailing me directly or calling Laura on 01244 739 321.Laura.roberts@hirecracker.co.ukHirecracker Education are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
