About the role
Are you motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the delivery of an exciting and varied programme of projects across Imperial's campuses? If so, we are seeking two key strategic and management Capital Projects Programme Managers to lead and be responsible for key stakeholder relationships and coordinator of project activities across the Property Division's "operational" functions. You will provide advice, guidance and programme monitoring and support to the Campus Directors.
The Project Delivery Team of the Property Division help manage one of the largest built estates in the University sector and delivers a comprehensive range of services to an academic community who are world leaders in the provision of Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Business Management, Research and Teaching.
What you would be doing
The role is business critical for the delivery of projects that support our environmental endeavors and provide transformational spaces that support academic growth is key to Imperial's Great Environment Strategy. Importantly,
* You will support the implementation Imperial's Carbon Net Zero It will influence the development and coordination of the CNZ programme, and the delivery of associated projects to assure that Imperial effectively supports to maintain its trajectory to achieve CNZ by 2040.
* You will support the Integrated Transformation Plan, helping to coordinate the development and on-time delivery of projects to support academic growth across South Kensington and our other campuses.
You will support the Director of Project Delivery in the creation and implementation of efficient processes and procedures, whilst ensuring the successful delivery of a programme of projects, either directly or in overseeing delivery by internal staff and/or external consultants.
You will be required to ensure consistency of approach across the Team and will help to support the Property Divisions "Operational" Teams in ensuring compliance in their delivery of smaller projects.
What we are looking for
* A degree (or overseas equivalent) and/or relevant professional qualification relating to the work of the post
* A Masters, or equivalent, in a construction or risk related discipline
* Recognised Project Management and/or Programme Management qualification
* Chartered membership of relevant professional organisation (CIOB, RICS, RIBA, APM, CMI)
* Proven experience in leading and completing multiple projects alongside each other, and the flexibility to respond effectively to changing demands and priorities
* Management experience at a senior level within organisations, with experience of line management and leading change
* Strong, evidenced experience in collating and analysing complex information and data from different sources, and applying it in high-level reports and reviews
* Extensive application of project management and Programme management tools, including experience in coordinating complex multi-stakeholder change projects, on time and according to projected budget implications within an institutional environment
* Advanced knowledge and demonstrable experience of using standard forms of construction contracts (specifically JCT and NEC)
* Demonstrable knowledge of the construction industry in the UK including experience of types of procurement and construction contracts - both traditional and modern partnering style contracts
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Environmental Health and who it affects the delivery of projects
* Thorough understanding of the Building Safety Act and the impact of the act towards strategy, forward planning and policy
* Advanced communication skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written; and ability to communicate at any level as required by the organization
* Imagination and foresight to apply skills and knowledge to new challenges and to undertake detailed project work that thinks beyond traditional solutions and ways of doing things
