Farm Manager Required - Neale Farm
This 5‑from‑7 shift pattern role requires a 6th shift as necessary, covering 48 hours a week.
Responsibilities
Overall responsibility of the Broiler Farm, including all aspects of husbandry, ensuring stock produced meets the highest standard and required specifications in terms of weight, quality, health & safety, welfare, etc. Encompassing commercial and financial aspects of the farm, working to financial and physical budgets, and, where appropriate, the management and development of a team of people.
Maintain professional integrity and appearance of the farm and dwellings at all times.
Ensure all health, safety and hygiene processes are adhered to and staff can carry out their daily duties. Manage and monitor environmental systems, feed, water, and ventilation systems within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality environment for the birds.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all matters related to birds, food, suppliers, ensuring adequate supply is maintained and controlled to acceptable levels, including management of alarms that may require call outs.
Act as a sound decision‑maker, work autonomously, and coordinate the work of other individuals to ensure continuous farm operation.
Live welfare as a condition in all actions and embody the farm’s animal welfare values.
Qualifications
* Previous involvement in field work
* Sound decision‑making ability
* Level 3 Poultry Passport Qualification (preferably held)
* People management skills and experience
* Full driving licence
* Broiler farm management experience
* Budget management experience
* Knowledge of environmental issues
* Previous experience in a similar role and ability to work autonomously
