Greenbridge recruitment is currently looking to speak with experienced Ecologists to join an established AJ100 Consultancy based near either Reading or Milton Keynes.
About the role:
Ideally we are looking for an experienced Senior, Principal or even Associate level Ecologist, to join an expanding, established team looking to open services in these locations.
While based within either of these two offices on a hybrid basis, our client has projects throughout the UK. They boast a wide range of clients and projects across multiple sectors and with a range of sister companies to enable them to complete the majority of work on all projects.
With this expansion they are looking for someone who could, in time, help in building, growing and leading the southern team from the bottom up. This is a great opportunity to be part of a well known national consultancy and become a pinnacle member of the Southern team.

Salary is circa £32,000 - £50,000, experience dependent.
Responsibilities:
You will lead and manage;
* Extended phase 1 habitat/UK Habitat Classification System
* Protected species surveys
* Mitigation proposals and habitat creation schemes
* Collaboration with the landscape team to support Biodiversity Net Gain
* Supervising projects under EPS licences for bats and great crested newts
* Technical reports for planning submission
* BREEAM Assessments,
* Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments
* Involvement with EIA
About you:
We would love to hear from you if you are / have;
* Degree qualified in a relevant field with membership of CIEEM
* Preferably a Bat and/or GCN Survey licence level 2, or level 1 and working towards, along with a good knowledge of mitigation and previous submission of development licences.
* Excellent working knowledge of wildlife legislation, the planning process, habitat and protected species surveying.
* A good understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments utilising the Defra Metric.
* Experience preparing ecological impact assessments and Ecology chapters used towards EIA (advantageous)
* Experience of project management, preparing fee quotes and report writing.
* Competent computer skills including use of QGIS mapping and bat call analysis software.
* Be self-motivated with an ability to communicate effectively, including management/mentoring of junior staff as part of a team.
