Overview
RAC is seeking a Finance Manager - Insurance to lead financial control and management accounting for the insurance division, supporting both short-term performance and long-term strategic goals. You will be at the heart of financial decision-making, working with the Insurance Finance team to drive performance and support the RAC’s Group Strategy and Five-Year Plan. You’ll deliver accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and robust financial controls. This is a hybrid role based in Bradley Stoke, working 2 days a week from the office and 3 days from home.
Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate financials and KPIs, including balance sheet reconciliations.
* Lead cost tracking, weekly outturns, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
* Prepare monthly reporting packs and ad hoc financial deliverables.
* Simplify and standardise financial processes for consistency and efficiency.
* Ensure financial controls operate effectively and support YE audit requirements.
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
* Support the development of annual budgets, reforecasts, and financial plans.
* Provide a consolidated financial view of the Insurance business.
* Monitor KPIs and performance against budget, with insightful commentary.
Accounting & Process Improvement
* Produce and maintain P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
* Understand and apply accounting policies and tax treatments.
* Challenge and validate cost data, simplifying processes where possible.
What You’ll Need
You’ll be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounting, financial control, and strategic planning. You’ll have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical and Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to stakeholders. Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable.
