Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Load Shovel/Machine operator for our site in Droylsden.
You will be required to work based on a 4on 4off shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
Machinery & Plant Operation
:
* Be proficient in operating all machinery and plant essential to the business unit, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
Maintenance
:
* Conduct daily and weekly checks on machinery and plant.
* Perform refuelling, lubrication, and greasing as needed to maintain operational standards.
* Promptly record and report any defects or breakdowns to ensure timely resolution.
Production Reporting
:
* Accurately report daily production output and any downtime to the Operations Manager for review and action.
Work Environment
:
* Maintain a safe and organized workspace, ensuring walkways and emergency exits are free of obstructions.
* Always use the appropriate safety equipment and PPE.
Incident Reporting
:
* Non-conforming wastes or contamination delivered to the site.
* Accidents, incidents, near-misses, environmental hazards, and health & safety breaches to the relevant manager.
Continuous Improvement
* Training
: Undertake necessary training to expand capabilities, including the operation of additional machinery or equipment.
* Audits & Checks
: Conduct random checks and audits on machinery under your remit to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Flexibility & Business Continuity
* Cover other operational roles as needed to ensure the continuity of business activities.
* Engage in manual handling tasks to assist with waste management activities.
Health & Safety
* Take responsibility for personal health and safety, as well as that of colleagues potentially affected by your work actions.
* Actively identify and report unsafe conditions to foster a safe workplace culture.
* Adhere to the company's management systems, safe systems of work, and legal requirements.

* In depth knowledge and understanding of plant and machinery operations.
* Exceptional attention to detail in maintenance and safety protocols.
* Effective communication and reporting skills.
