Job Title: Senior Operations Manager, Merchant Services Operations

Location: Basildon

Salary: circa £100,000 dependant on experience

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our Basildon office. Occasional travel to other sites across the UK will also be required.

As Senior Manager, Operations, you’ll lead a high performing team and play a pivotal role in shaping our servicing strategy. Working closely with colleagues across Merchant Services, Lloyds Banking Group and Fiserv, you’ll embed digital first solutions, scale automation and deliver operational excellence. What you’ll be doing:

1. Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and customer focus
2. Translate strategy into operational plans that improve efficiency, customer experience and risk management
3. Manage end-to-end operational performance, using data and KPIs to drive measurable improvements
4. Champion digital transformation and automation to streamline workflows and enhance customer journeys
5. Ensure robust regulatory and risk compliance, embedding resilience and strong controls
6. Collaborate with third parties, joint ventures and strategic partners to deliver integrated solutions across product, technology and compliance

What you’ll need:

7. Strong experience in merchant services, payment processing or the broader fintech environment
8. Deep understanding of operational excellence, risk management and customer experience
9. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams
10. A track record of delivering initiatives that transform customer experience and digitise journeys
11. Proven ability to work effectively with third parties, joint ventures and strategic partners
12. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with excellent communication and presentation abilities
