Detention Custody Officer (DCO) – Edinburgh Airport
* £27,847 per annum
* 42 hours per week
* 24-hour service, 365 days a year
* Rolling shift pattern covering both days and nights
You must be 21 or older to apply for this role and hold a UK manual driving licence. Applications without a valid UK manual driving licence will not be considered.
The ITC courses are scheduled throughout 2025. Attendance is compulsory for the 4-week training course, which may be held in London or Manchester with all expenses paid in advance.

Role Responsibilities
Your role as an Airport DCO involves escorting and ensuring the welfare and dignity of immigration travelers within the airport environment. You will be responsible for driving a small vehicle and escorting individuals, maintaining high standards of security and safety, and promoting the welfare of residents in your care.
Flexibility is required to cover both day shifts with varying start and finish times and night shifts.
No specific experience or qualifications are necessary, as full training and development are provided. Experience dealing sensitively with a diverse range of people who may be agitated, confused, or angry is advantageous.
Candidate Requirements
* UK citizen, Commonwealth citizen with indefinite leave to remain, or EEA citizen
* Valid, in-date passport with no restrictions on UK stay; visas in expired passports are not accepted
* Resided in the UK continuously for the past 3 years
* Spent no more than 3 months abroad at a time in the past 3 years
* Prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, provide employment references for the past 5 years, and vetting to CTC level if offered the role
* Full UK manual driving licence with at least 12 months post-qualification experience (applications without a valid licence will not be accepted)
* Fewer than 6 points on your driving licence
* No driving bans or disqualifications in the past 12 months
* Not currently bankrupt
* Must be over 21 years old at employment start
