Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with a successful, independent consultancy who are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Design Engineer on a contract basis for approx 3–6 months. The consultancy pride themselves on delivering high quality, sustainable and functional designs, which can be evidenced by their long-standing client relationships with customers and repeat business spanning decades. Their portfolio of work is varied, and includes projects within themercial, education, residential, healthcare and industrial sectors.
There is flexibility on the number of days to be spent working in the Glasgow office, though you may be expected to attend site visits, so it is preferred that you live within amutable distance from the city centre.
Your new role
You will play a key role in supporting Senior Engineers and Associates in producing robust design solutions for a number of ongoing projects within the sectors mentioned above.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Producing Electrical Design drawings & calculations (Amtech, Dialux, Relux, IES).
2. Preparing technical reports, specifications and schedules.
3. Ensuringpliance with relevant regulations and standards (including BREEAM).
4. Collaborating with other engineers and architects.
What you'll need to succeed
5. Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
6. At least 5 years' experience in electrical design engineering on Building Services projects within the UK.
7. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building codes.
8. AutoCAD proficiency, ideally with a working knowledge of Revit.
9. Excellentmunication and collaboration skills.
10. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The hourly rate for this position is flexible upon your experience and preferred payment type (outside IR35), though it will be in the region of £30-£38ph.
The contract is expected to run for a minimum of 3–6 months, with the possibility to extend or even lead to a permanent position within the consultancy.
