Job Overview / Introduction

The Product Director will be responsible for the commercial success of Squarcle’s platform, defining the strategic product roadmap driving Product Led Growth, the production of pricing strategies and licensing, aligning stakeholders across technical and operational domains and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable, user‑centric analytics capabilities. The role requires deep experience and expertise in balancing product innovation against the backdrop of stringent regulatory, security, and operational constraints. Development teams will be based in the UK and overseas.

This role works closely with the Squarcle Market Leads to understand market requirements, pricing and licensing models and the software engineering teams to design and fulfil the requirements and expand the Squarcle Digital Products.


Primary Roles And Responsibilities

Primary duties of the Product Director are:


Product Strategy & Vision

* Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the analytics platform
* Product Led Growth ensuring return on product investment, market differentiation, time to value, measured user adoption (ARR / TCV)
* Retention and expansion of existing user base (NNR, expansion revenue, retention rate)
* Align product direction with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements, and user needs
* Identify opportunities to leverage data, AI, and analytics to drive operational and strategic outcomes


Secure Product Design & Compliance

* Ensure the platform is secure by design, meeting requirements for classified or sensitive environments
* Embed compliance with standards such:
o ISO 27001
o NIST
o UK GDPR / Data Protection Act
* Work with security and assurance teams to meet accreditation requirements (e.g. secure environments, restricted networks)


Data & Analytics Capability

* Define and evolve analytics capabilities including:
o Data ingestion, integration, and governance
o Reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics
o AI/ML/Optimisation enablement where appropriate
* Ensure high data quality, lineage, and auditability


Delivery Leadership

* Lead cross‑functional teams (product, engineering, architecture, cyber, data)
* Drive agile delivery at scale, balancing flexibility with governance
* Oversee integration with enterprise systems (ERP, logistics, operational platforms)


Stakeholder & Commercial Management

* Engage external stakeholders (customers, prospects, market analysts)
* Engage senior stakeholders across business, technology, and security domains
* Translate complex requirements into clear product priorities
* Manage the supplier ecosystem, including SIs, SMEs, and technology partners
* Support procurement, commercial structuring, and contract management (e.g. NEC, outcome‑based contracts)


Operating in Secure Environments

* Navigate constraints of:
o Air‑gapped or restricted networks
o Limited cloud connectivity
o Complex accreditation processes
* Ensure platform usability and performance within these constraints


Squarcle Management Responsibilities

* Support the internal staffing processes including performance management of assigned individuals
* Encourage effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture
* Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for performance appraisees
* Lead, coach and mentor team members


Team Leadership and Mentorship

* Head and lead the entire engineering group, owns the entire organization
* Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs
* Foster knowledge sharing and best practices within the consulting team


Thought Leadership and Industry Expertise

* Stay updated on data analytics industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
* Contribute to thought leadership initiatives
* Participate in professional development activities, such as attending seminars or pursuing relevant certifications


Secondary Roles And Responsibilities

Secondary duties of the Product Director are:

* Continuous Improvement: Commit to continuous development by supporting the organisation of team events, leading training sessions, and actively driving recruitment within the Product environment
* Other Duties: Carry out other duties as specified by the COO


Essential: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Proven experience as a Product Director / Head of Product in complex, enterprise environments
* Strong background in data platforms, analytics, or digital products
* Experience delivering in highly regulated or secure environments (e.g. finance, government, defence, critical infrastructure)
* Deep understanding of:
o Data architecture and analytics platforms
o Cloud and/or on‑premise secure environments
o Cyber security and compliance frameworks
* Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and off shore teams
* Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or similar)


DESIRABLE

* Product and/or agile certifications (e.g. SAFe, Scrum) desirable
* Security or data‑related certifications advantageous
* Experience with:
o AI/ML and advanced analytics platforms
o Secure cloud (e.g. AWS/Azure in restricted environments)
o Integration across complex supply chains or logistics systems
o Knowledge of UK government digital standards and assurance processes
o Experience working under structured contract models (e.g. NEC, CCS framework‑based delivery)

Our working hours are 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (with an hour for lunch), Monday – Friday.
