We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer to join this leading provider of electronic design and assembly services in Widnes, Cheshire.

About the role
As a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer, selecting the right components for a design is critical to its success. Working across the design, new product engineering, and procurement teams, you will be responsible for the selection, introduction, and maintenance of components within the company databases and associated documentation systems. Your duties will include:
* Introduction and maintenance of component records in internal systems
* Establishing and maintaining technical contacts with major manufacturers and suppliers
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals for new and alternate components and verifying regulatory approvals
* Dissemination of critical component information, including new introductions, last time buy, and obsolescence notifications
* Assisting with component selection, pricing, and lead time data for design and manufacturing operations
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* A degree in electronics or substantial relevant experience
* Ideally 2 years of industrial experience in a related role
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Problem-solving skills with initiative
* Good organization skills and ability to multi-task
* A keen eye for detail
* Experience with Excel and MRP/ERP systems
About the hours and rewards
The salary for this role is up to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus:
