Overview
This is a Senior Social Worker role in the East Sussex SPOA Team, based in Eastbourne. The team screens and triages referrals to Children’s Services and CAMHS, supports decision-making on how a case is handled, and works closely with mental health colleagues in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
* Oversee and screen referrals and identify which cases require further consideration by the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) or Early Help-based support.
* Contribute to the decision-making process about the most appropriate service pathway, from universal services to safeguarding.
* Work within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team, providing supervision and making decisions as required (must have Practice Educator 1 and 2).
* Assist in triaging referrals within 24 hours and determine Continnum of Need placement for young persons and families.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to connect quickly with vulnerable families.
* Excellent risk analysis skills to determine the best approach and service level.
* A firm grounding in evidence-based practice with up-to-date knowledge of theory and research.
