Job overview

Are you interested in joining a stimulating environment that is committed to fulfilling the needs of its staff as well as its patients? If you are, the Homecare Service may be for you. Homecare is a community-based role delivering sub-cutaneous systemic anti-cancer therapy and supportive therapies to patients with a wide variety of cancers within their own homes. We are committed to providing the highest quality care and maintaining consistently high standards in a professional and friendly atmosphere. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who can work autonomously. If you are committed to providing patient focused care and would like to join our team, then we would like to hear from you

Main duties of the job

As part of the national drive to bring healthcare closer to home and reduce reliance on hospital-based services, The Royal Marsden has developed a comprehensive Homecare Chemotherapy Service. This initiative enables patients to receive treatment in their own homes—reducing hospital visits, minimising travel, and significantly enhancing their overall experience of care.

This role involves the administration of subcutaneous systemic anti-cancer therapies and supportive treatments to patients with haematological, breast, and gastrointestinal cancers. You will visit patients in their homes to deliver these therapies, ensuring they receive safe, effective, and compassionate care in a familiar environment.

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff

At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
