SAP/SAC Datasphere Consultant
3-6 months, Hybrid, Coventry (2-3 days onsite), Contract
Job Purpose
The role involves designing, developing, and operating SAP data cloud platforms. As a specialist, you will build and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure systems to support business functions. Working with data engineers, you’ll deliver reusable enterprise-level data for regulatory, operational, and analytic reporting. You are expected to drive innovation, adopt new technologies, and ensure the platform meets evolving data needs.
Functional Accountabilities
SAP Datasphere Specialists will be accountable for engaging with and providing solutions using SAP data platforms such as SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud, SLT Replication Server, and BW4HANA.
•Responsible for implementing data integration solutions across a range of SAP and non-SAP technologies.
•Participate in the administration and operational activities related to our data platform.
•Contribute to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for data platforms.
•Understand business processes, select optimal approaches, assess their effectiveness, and evaluate their relevance for data modelling and data governance.
•Introduce appropriate controls within processes to ensure data handling aligns with company policies regarding privacy, data retention, and security.
•Monitor adherence to data standards and architectures, including aspects of security and compliance.
•Gather stakeholder input, offer constructive feedback, and help prioritise requirements effectively.
•Keep informed about new technologies, industry developments, and best practices in SAP Data Management, Data Engineering, and Cloud Data Solutions.
Specialist Accountabilities
Responsible for creating data connections in SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other platforms, as well as administering and operating the Data Platform.
•Lead data preparation, integration, and management tasks in BDC/Datasphere.
•Implement and design best practices for security concepts that are essential for cloud native applications.
•Apply industry best practices across SAP Data Platforms like SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.
•Work with cross-functional teams to develop secure, scalable, and cost-effective data architectures.
•Utilise monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to improve system reliability and performance.
•Manage SAP releases and maintenance Change Approval Board and Service Management guidelines.
•Promote automation to streamline processes and boost productivity.
•Stay current with new technologies and trends in SAP Data Management, Data Engineering, and Cloud Solutions.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
