Lead PHP Full Stack Developer
Salary: £35,000 to £50,000

The role
We are looking for a Lead PHP Full Stack Developer who genuinely enjoys writing high quality code. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working across the full stack, has strong experience with Laravel and React, and takes pride in building clean, maintainable and well structured systems.
You will work on meaningful projects, building websites, applications and tools for a diverse client base, including large organisations and public sector partners. You will be trusted to take ownership of your work, learn new technologies where required, and collaborate effectively without heavy oversight.
What you will be doing
* Building modern web applications using Laravel and React
* Working confidently within large codebases, understanding data flow and business logic
* Designing, building and consuming secure APIs
* Translating Figma designs into polished, performant and accessible front ends
* Collaborating with designers, strategists and content teams
* Owning code quality, best practice and delivery standards
What we are looking for
* Strong experience with PHP and JavaScript, with solid object oriented programming principles
* Proven experience building production applications using Laravel and React
* Ability to write clean, maintainable and well architected code
* Experience creating secure APIs with an understanding of OAuth2 concepts
* Confident working with MySQL and Redis in live environments
* Comfortable deploying and managing applications using tools such as Laravel Forge and Envoyer
* Confident working on Ubuntu servers via the command line and SSH
* Strong Git workflow experience, including branching, pull requests and code reviews
* Clear communicator able to explain technical concepts to non technical stakeholders
Nice to have
* Experience implementing accessibility standards or an interest in learning best practice
* Strong CSS skills using Sass, BEM or similar scalable approaches
* Leadership instincts and an interest in mentoring or shaping a development team over time
