We are seeking a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to take on the dual role of HLTA and Assistant SENDCo. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate yet knowledgeable professional to support pupils with special educational needs. The role will support the effective coordination and delivery of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision across our school. Working closely with the SENDCo, this role is central to ensuring that all pupils with SEND receive high-quality, inclusive support that enables them to thrive both academically and emotionally. The role involves working closely with parents, staff, and external professionals to ensure SEND provision is of the highest standard. Hillside High School in Bootle, Merseyside, is a mixed comprehensive secondary school for children aged At full capacity, the school has a pupil roll of 970.
Hillside High School was formed in 1972 when Bootle Girls' Grammar School combined with Balliol County Secondary School. It was on two sites until 1987. when a new school building was completed. The school converted to academy status in March 2015 under the umbrella of the Wade Deacon Trust.
The school works hard to ensure that all students are encouraged to reach their academic potential, with its most able pupils in all subject areas supported and extended through challenging cross-curricular projects, clubs and educational visits. However, all individual talents and passions are equally valued and nurtured.
Hillside has strong international links and pupils regularly visit schools to work with their counterparts in countries including Malaga, France, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.
