SEN Teaching Assistant/Support Worker Location: Southsea (Portsmouth) Salary Scale: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour Start Date: ASAP/September GSL Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant/Support Worker to join a supportive and inclusive school environment. About the Role: We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant/Support Worker to provide personalised support to students with diverse needs at a school in Southsea. As part of our team, you'll play a vital role in helping learners achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant/Support Worker: Provide personalised support to students with a variety of physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Assist students with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as needed. Support students with daily living activities, fostering independence and promoting a sense of well-being. Work closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals to create and implement care plans that meet the specific needs of each student. Encourage and facilitate social interactions, community involvement, and leisure activities to improve quality of life. Provide emotional support and build trusting, respectful relationships with students to ensure their safety and comfort. Document and report changes in students' health, behaviour, or well-being as required. Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant/Support Worker role: Previous experience in a care/support role, especially with individuals who have complex needs, is desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues. A patient, caring, and compassionate attitude toward working with vulnerable individuals. Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of individuals. Relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to complete training. Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a strong focus on person-centered care. A valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
