SEN Tutor (QTS Required) - 10 Hours per Week per Student
Location: Derby Areas (DE73 & DE21)
Contract: Part‑time, flexible (AM work)
Hours: 10 hours per week per student (2 hours per day)

Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We are seeking experienced, patient and dedicated Qualified Teachers (QTS) to provide 1:1 and 2:1 SEN tuition for two learners based in the DE73 and DE21 areas. Tuition will take place in the mornings, unless families request otherwise.
These students require a calm, consistent and nurturing tutor who can deliver learning tailored to their developmental level and specific needs.
Learner Profiles
DE73 - 13 Years Old (1:1 Support)
1. Working significantly below age-related expectations
2. Operating at a KS1 level
3. Requires a tutor experienced in adapting curriculum content and creating engaging, accessible learning opportunities
DE21 - 14 Years Old (2:1 Support)
4. Working at EYFS/KS1 level
5. Non-verbal and presents communication and sensory needs
6. History of challenging behaviour - tutors must be confident, resilient and experienced in behaviour regulation strategies
7. This is a 2:1 support package, so you will work alongside another professional
Requirements
8. QTS - Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
9. Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those working below KS1
10. Confidence in supporting non-verbal learners and using alternative communication approaches
11. Experience with behaviour management and de‑escalation
12. Ability to personalise and deliver engaging, ability‑level learning
13. Reliability, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
