Scope of Role:
1. To build mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOP’s and CMM’s
2. To inspect and test finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
3. To upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
4. To maintain equipment and tooling used in assembly process.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
5. Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
6. Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors and or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
7. Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment. For example torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers and verniers
8. Assemble and test components and systems according to specifications, ensuring they meet quality standards and function properly.
9. Conducting tests and inspections to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
10. Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
11. Complete all relevant documentation.
12. Provide any information or help required to customers, suppliers and visitors from other companies within our group of companies who often tour the factory floors, and may well take the opportunity to examine parts, talk to staff or watch them carry out their work. To be able to communicate at all levels.
13. Participate in any Continuous Improvement and 6S activities that affects the quality or output of the product.
14. Where PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided, you will be required to use it.
15. Carry out all activities as defined above in a timely manner to ensure the company manufacturing targets are achieved.
16. You will be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to, training colleagues in line with local skills matrix, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
17. Play a key role in cross training within the department to reduce any SPOF highlighted by the Line leader
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions:
18. Undertake training that is a requirement of the role as identified by the Line Leader
19. Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the Section Manager / Production manager.
20. At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
21. Able to read and understand drawings and or CMMs and or SOP’s
22. Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings
23. Able to read, write and understand English
24. Knowledge of tools, i.e. circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, Swiss files etc
25. Soldering skills on small components
26. Skills on the use of machines, lathes, drills etc
27. Brazing desirable
28. Previous experience in a production environment, assembly of wide range of electro/mechanical products
29. Experience in assembling small components, i.e. model kits or other small component assembly
30. Ability to work in a team
