Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and innovative individual to join our Workforce and Education team in an 18month fixed term or secondment position for Senior Nurse- Workforce. You will work together with the Associate Chief Nurse and Lead Nurse towards shared goals for workforce planning and development. You will support the development and delivery of nursing recruitment and retention programmes demonstrating proactive and flexible approaches to the recruitment and retention of the nursing workforce. Acting as a professional resource for Nursing recruitment, you will be highly motivated, creative, committed to striving for excellence and passionate about best nursing recruitment practices. You will have strong communication and organisational skills and recognise the value of working collaboratively with our Divisions, Education, and recruitment teams.
Expected Interview Date: either 3rd or 4th of June.
Main duties of the job
You will work with key stakeholders to deliver a high quality, responsive, recruitment and retention service and evaluate the Nursing and HCSW recruitment and retention activity. The role should demonstrate continued reduced vacancy and turnover rates within nursing and HCSWs, with increased satisfaction of the on-boarding experience. Acting as a professional resource, the post holder will targeting areas with high vacancy rates to support innovative recruitment practices and provide a yearly programme of recruitment activity

To manage projects supporting a variety of recruitment and retention initiatives
To lead Nursing and HCSW recruitment and retention across the Trust aligning to the national evidence and best practice and providing expert advice and guidance to line managers.
Demonstrate reduced vacancy rate within nursing and HCSWs.
Demonstrate reduced turnover rate within nursing and HCSWs, with increased satisfaction with the onboarding experience.
To lead on partnership working for Nursing and Healthcare Support Workers recruitment and retention; working collaboratively with the Associate Chief Nurse- Workforce and Education, Divisional Directors of Nursing, Temporary Staffing Human Resources Business Partners and other colleagues
To work closely with the education team and external stakeholders to seek, identify and implement new initiatives for nursing recruitment and retention actions.
To engage with the Divisional Directors of Nursing and leadership teams; championing involvement, integration and support for the recruitment and retention processes, targeting areas with high vacancy rates and providing a yearly programme of recruitment.
To lead on retention actions that align with the People Promise, keeping abreast of shared practice, national and regional innovations and regular self-assessment.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse
2. Master's Degree level education or equivalent level of experience
Experience

3. Current knowledge of recruitment related legislation and best practice
4. Demonstrable Nursing and HCSW recruitment experience, including the co-ordination of campaigns for hard to fill posts
5. Demonstrable track record of providing recruitment and retention support to managers in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Desirable
6. Experience of working with business performance metrics/data to understand key issues to guide and direct strategy
Knowledge / Skills
Essential
7. Expert knowledge of key current workforce issues in the NHS impacting on Nursing and HCSW recruitment and retention and the ability to interpret and apply the knowledge to the Trust
8. Good working knowledge of Recruitment systems and processes.
Desirable
9. Specialist professional knowledge of designing and managing recruitment and retention activity, Project management, international recruitment, Recruitment System
