We’re looking for an enthusiastic Sustainability Assistant to join our team for a 12-month maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to help the Devonshire Group quantify and communicate its impact, empower colleagues, and shape a more sustainable future. About the role Working closely with our Head of Sustainability, you’ll help deliver the Devonshire Group’s sustainability strategy and ensure we remain on track with key commitments. Your day-to-day work will include: Driving sustainability reporting. Collecting, analysing and presenting data for our annual sustainability reports, mandatory reporting (e.g. Extended Producer Responsibility, SECR, ESOS), long-term sustainability targets (our commitment to our shared future) and ad hoc environmental, economic and social impact metrics. Communicating progress clearly through written and verbal updates. Supporting engagement and best practice. Maintaining a register of sustainability initiatives to share best practice and comply with green certification schemes. Developing and supporting our Sustainability Champions network, helping colleagues stay engaged, informed, and inspired. This role evolves with the needs of the business, so you’ll enjoy variety and the chance to get involved in new initiatives as they arise. This is a fixed-term role covering a period of maternity leave, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There will be the potential for hybrid working once established in the role. This will be discussed at interview. About you You must have a genuine passion for sustainability with strong interpersonal skills. You will develop expert knowledge and expertise to advise on sustainability issues and create best-practice solutions to help ensure that we are at the forefront of the green agenda. You should also possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. You must have the ability to collate and analyse data in different forms. Experience of sustainability measurement systems or other KPI reporting would also be an advantage. Please see attached job description for further information.
