Specialist Doctor/GP in Ambulatory Care (Emergency Medicine) – Warrington Hospital
Join our SDEC Ambulatory Care (Emergency Department) team at Warrington Hospital, a busy District General Hospital providing pragmatic, high-quality care to a diverse Northwest population.
Responsibilities
* Assess, diagnose, investigate and manage ambulatory ED patients attending the SDEC area.
* Provide leadership in Ambulatory Care governance, design innovative patient pathways and policies to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Engage in teaching, mentoring and supervision for junior medical staff; contribute to Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) with access to training resources.
* Participate in quality improvement and research initiatives; contribute to national and international studies where appropriate.
* Deliver bespoke induction courses and regular teaching for resident clinicians; participate in specialist sedation courses and onsite ALS/EPALS/GIC/ILS/PILS courses where offered.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential: Registration with the GMC; Primary Medical Degree; extensive experience in the assessment of adult ambulatory patients with medical or surgical presentations.
* Desirable: GMC GP Register; Higher Medical Qualifications; leadership or medical education qualifications; additional qualifications such as MRCP, FRCEM, MRCS; eligibility for GP Specialist Register.

* Commitment to teaching, training and service development; ability to critically appraise evidence and implement changes.
* Ability to move and transfer patients safely; resilience and effective time management; ability to work in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
Details
* Salary: £100,870 to £111,441 per annum
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Full-time (flexible and part-time applications considered)
