Primary Mental Health Team Lead

Job responsibilities
* Line manage and clinically supervise clinicians in the Primary Mental Health Team and Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) to ensure quality and patient safety.
* Support the service lead in deployment of future MHST roll‑outs and secure fidelity of the model.
* Collaborate with the service lead to ensure financial efficiency and effective use of resources.
* Maintain a clinical case load providing direct care to the client group.
* Identify gaps in service provision and help develop services to meet client needs.
* Contribute to the development of provision at the interface of child and adolescent mental health services, schools, colleges, and early help agencies across the county.
* Increase awareness of client needs at the primary care level by sharing clinical knowledge and expertise through consultation, liaison, teaching, and training.
* Promote the three core functions of the MHSTs: 1:1 evidence‑based interventions, consultation/advise and signposting, and whole school approaches.
* Support schools and primary care colleagues in considering referrals to relevant mental health services and support teams for further assessment.
* Assess current services available for children and families.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent level of relevant experience.
* Current registration with a professional body (eg NMC, HCPC, BABCP, Social Work England).
* Post‑registration training in Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
* Registered mentor if a registered nurse, or willingness to complete training and experience of delivering clinical supervision / CBT supervision or a qualification in supervision.
* Additional post‑registration qualification in a specific therapeutic modality.
Experience and knowledge
* Significant experience of working within child and adolescent mental health services or with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Experience of service development and delivery including multi‑agency operational systems, referral protocols and assessment processing.
* Experience delivering clinical supervision.
* Experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings.
* Experience, or training, in psychological therapies.
* Knowledge or experience of coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
* Knowledge or experience of quality improvement tools, techniques and methods.
Other requirements
* Valid driving licence and either a car owned by the applicant or availability to use a Trust vehicle; reasonable adjustments may be considered for disabled persons.
