Mechanical Fitter
Maintain and repair production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, combining preventative maintenance with responsive breakdown support. You'll work across the full site, helping keep equipment running safely and reliably on a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern.

Based near Kilmarnock on a permanent basis, working 4‑on 4‑off continental 12‑hour shifts (days and nights).
The role
As a Mechanical Fitter you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance on machinery across the site to support safe and reliable production. The role exists to provide consistent maintenance cover across a 24/7 operation and reduce downtime. You'll use your experience from FMCG or heavy engineering to work efficiently and communicate clearly with colleagues across shifts.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out preventative maintenance on a range of production machinery and equipment
Responding to mechanical breakdowns to diagnose faults and complete repairs
Performing general site maintenance on mechanical plant and associated systems
Supporting safe start-up and shutdown of equipment as required
Completing maintenance records and updating relevant documentation
Working collaboratively with other shift engineers and production teams to minimise downtime
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a mechanical fitter in FMCG and/or heavy engineering environments
Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills on production machinery
Experience of planned preventative maintenance routines
Good communication skills, able to work effectively with operators and other engineers
