Overview
AURA Veterinary is a world-renowned centre for excellence in oncology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and interventional radiology based in Guildford. Our focus is on delivering the best possible outcomes for the dogs and cats referred to us for treatment. The facilities at AURA are state-of-the-art and include multiple operating theatres, advanced imaging and interventional equipment.
This role is for 6–12 months maternity leave cover.
Responsibilities
* Provide strong nursing leadership to one of the hospital’s clinical teams and work closely with medical oncology senior clinicians to ensure patients are effectively managed through the hospital environment in a timely and professional manner.
* Apply advanced clinical nursing skills along with exceptional logistics and problem-solving to overcome barriers to the delivery of patient care and ensure care is completed to a high standard.
* Demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with the clinical team, clients and referring veterinary practices to promote clinical flow of patients through the hospital.
* Mentor and supervise other nursing staff and veterinary care assistants, using your expertise to educate and guide them to provide an exceptional level of care.
* Be driven, motivated, organized and flexible to facilitate the completion of the clinical workflow for the specialists’ patients.
* Work pattern: Tuesday – Friday, plus 1:5 weekends and participation in the Bank Holiday rota.
Qualifications and requirements
* Advanced clinical nursing skills with experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the clinical team, clients and referring practices.
* Experience in mentoring and supervising nursing staff and support staff.
* Ability to manage logistics and problem-solve to maintain high standards of patient care.
