Student Support Practitioner We are working with secondary schools seeking a Student Support Practitioner to provide structured, non-teaching support across KS3-KS4. This role sits between a Teacher and a Teaching Assistant, offering targeted academic, behavioural, and pastoral support to students who require more than in-class TA provision but do not need specialist teaching. Key Responsibilities Deliver structured 1:1 and small-group academic support Reinforce lesson content, routines, and expectations set by teaching staff Support behaviour, engagement, and self-regulation within lessons Assist with reintegration, attendance, and transition support Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Provide consistent, professional presence across the school day Person Specification Experience working with secondary-aged students or young people Confident supporting learning without full teaching responsibility Strong behaviour management and communication skills Suitable for experienced TAs, instructors, HLTA-level staff, or ex-teachers seeking a non-teaching role What Schools Gain Additional capacity between teaching and support staff Improved classroom focus and student engagement Reduced pressure on teachers and pastoral teams Competitive pay dependent on experience.
