Help Shape the Future of London’s Bus Network
At Go-Ahead London, we keep London moving. As the capital’s largest bus operator, we run hundreds of routes every day and are continually looking for smarter, more efficient ways to improve reliability and passenger experience.
We are now looking for a Network Optimisation Analyst to join our team at our Merton Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven analyst who enjoys turning complex operational data into practical solutions that improve performance across a large transport network.
In this role, you will help identify opportunities to improve journey times, enhance reliability, and support strategic decision-making through detailed analysis, modelling, and clear insight.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Analyse journey times, schedules, and operational performance to identify opportunities to optimise routes and services.
* Build and maintain a robust data framework that helps prioritise the most impactful improvements.
* Develop business cases and cost–benefit analyses to assess proposed schedule and route changes.
* Produce clear reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights to senior stakeholders.
* Support engagement with Transport for London by preparing evidence-based proposals and performance reviews.
* Track and manage optimisation proposals, ensuring expected benefits are monitored and delivered.
* Work closely with colleagues across scheduling, operations, performance, and finance to ensure changes are practical and aligned with wider business objectives.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with the ability to communicate insight clearly.
You’ll Ideally Have
* Strong analytical skills, ideally with experience improving route or operational performance.
* Experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, GIS, or transport planning/operations software.
* Experience building business cases, financial modelling, or cost–benefit analysis.
* The ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and proposals simultaneously.
* An understanding of transport operations, network planning principles, or performance metrics.
* Previous experience in transport planning, operations analysis, data analytics, or a similar analytical role.
Why Join Us?
At Go-Ahead London, you’ll play a direct role in shaping how London’s bus network performs day-to-day. Your analysis will help influence operational decisions, support discussions with Transport for London, and ultimately improve the experience for millions of passengers.
You’ll also work alongside experienced operational and planning professionals in an environment that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
