Finance Assistant

Experience with Sage 50 and strong Excel skills preferred but not essential.
I'm working with a growing organisation in Worcestershire that is looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to support their busy finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has either recently completed (or is close to completing) their AAT Level 4 qualification and is looking for a varied role with room to develop and take on more responsibility, or somebody looking to do their AAT with study support.
The team is collaborative and fast-paced, so would suit someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of finance and is confident building relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Finance Assistant Responsibilities:
* Assist with monthly management accounts, including journal postings and reconciliations
* Prepare and post accurate month-end journals (accruals, prepayments etc.)
* Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
* Assist with cash postings and employee expense processing
* Support with internal and external audit prep, including documentation and schedules
* Help manage the purchase ledger: matching invoices to POs, data input, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving queries
* Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding aged debt and cash collections
* Maintain and update finance process documentation
* Contribute to team projects and support wider finance activity as needed
Finance Assistant Profile:
* AAT Level 3 or 4 (studying, qualified or open to study support for this)
* High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
* Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables etc.)
* Familiarity with Sage 50 or similar accounting software is desirable
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment
* Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
What's On Offer:
* Salary between £23,000 - £27,000 (depending on experience)
* Opportunity to grow into a more senior finance role as experience builds
* Supportive, collaborative team environment
* Full study support available for AAT or further qualifications
* Real variety in day-to-day responsibilities, with exposure to both transactional and month-end processes
If you're an aspiring finance professional looking to take on a well-rounded role in a friendly and forward-thinking team, please apply or get in touch to find out more. #J-18808-Ljbffr
