Summary
The Product & Technology Director, Fashion, Home & Beauty (FH&B) is a senior strategic leader accountable for global product and technology outcomes across Fashion, Home and Beauty, including International, Online, Customer, Finance and People. The role defines the product ambition, value outcomes and technology investment priorities that enable commercial growth, operational excellence and differentiated customer and colleague experiences.
Reporting to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer and as a core member of the FH&B leadership team, the role is the single point of accountability for product vision, portfolio priorities and value realisation. It ensures every investment is aligned to strategic intent, measurable value and sustainable advantage across UK & Ireland and International markets, translating commercial ambition into a clear, outcome led technology plan.
The Product & Technology Director leads all Product functions across the domain, including Product Management, UX and Research & Insights, with portfolio investment accountability and clear, consistent prioritisation.
Key Accountabilities
Product & Technology Vision & Strategic Intent - Define the product and technology ambition and roadmap required to win in Fashion, Home & Beauty.
Outcome Led Portfolio Direction & Investment - Set priorities and success measures, focusing investment on the highest value opportunities.
Value & Investment Accountability - Own portfolio outcomes, technology budgets and benefits realisation aligned to business priorities.
Enterprise Alignment & Governance - Represent FH&B priorities in enterprise forums, ensuring effective technology investment and risk management.
Cross Functional Partnership - Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Data & AI and Delivery to realise outcomes effectively and sustainably.
What You'll Do
Define the product ambition, strategic outcomes and multi year roadmap to deliver the Fashion, Home & Beauty commercial strategy, aligned to enterprise Technology direction.
Set investment priorities and trade offs, ensuring D&T capacity and spend are focused on the highest value business and technology outcomes.
Act as senior product owner for the FH&B portfolio, accountable for value outcomes, benefits realisation, clear success metrics and disciplined lifecycle management.
Serve as the primary strategic advisor to the Business Unit MD and leadership team, translating technology opportunity into clear commercial choices, risks and return on investment.
Lead and develop senior Product and UX leaders, building a high performing organisation with consistent standards and clear accountability for outcomes.
Hold accountability for the product and technology investment budget, ensuring robust business cases, transparency of allocation, cost control and total cost of ownership visibility.
Represent FH&B priorities within Digital & Technology and enterprise forums, ensuring aligned, value driven investment and decision making.
Ensure strong portfolio and delivery governance, proactively managing risk, security, compliance and dependencies in line with agreed risk appetite.
Who You Are
Credible leadership presence and gravitas, with experience in owning technology and/or digital product strategy within a complex, matrixed consumer-facing organisation.
Strategic and practical mindset, able to set a clear strategy while remaining closely connected to execution.
Proven accountability for technology budgets, investment portfolios, and value realisation.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to connect product and technology decisions to P&L outcomes.
Experience operating at executive level as a trusted advisor and strategic partner who is visible across the relevant business unit/s and continually seeks to understand what works and what matters.
Impactful and persuasive communicator, translating complex digital and technology issues and opportunities into concise recommendations.
Deep understanding of modern product management, agile, and portfolio governance practices.
Collaborative, values led and change focused leader motivated by building high performing teams and shaping a modern, efficient and future ready D&T capability
