Responsibilities
* Support the Portfolio Management Office and sub portfolio’s project and programme work delivering over £150m of improvements in the next three years.
* Start up and inform new projects, help assure live projects, support project managers, build relationships with the Portfolio Management Office and help improve and embed portfolio management and data practices.
* Inform and contribute to data practices and reporting to enable delivery outcomes that protect communities and businesses from flooding.
* Participate in incident response as part of the team, with potential additional payment and full training; alternative working arrangements and full support will be provided for the incident role.
* Operate within the Environment Agency’s FCRM directorate and contribute to continuous improvement and innovative projects across national and area teams.
Experience / Skills Required
* Formal project / programme management experience is essential.
* Highly numerate with data gathering, manipulation and interpretation skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience of Power BI / Tableau (or similar) desirable.
* Experience in a project support role in a complex organisation using Agile and waterfall methodologies.
* Administrative and organisational skills, supporting regular meetings, agendas and minutes for Portfolio governance cycles.
* Financial data management and project planning skills desirable.
* Ability to gain credibility and co-operation across the business through collaborative behaviours.
* Experience in tackling and automating routine issues with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Ability to work with uncertainty and find innovative solutions to problems.
