Responsibilities
* Assist with training, workplace pastoral support, and assessment of support workers.
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate support worker training, facilitating specified training sessions supporting individual and group based learning.
* Act as a 'Champion' for support staff and role model for excellent patient care.
* Support and contribute to the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of training programmes for support worker learners.
* Assist with induction and introduction of learners to their relevant programme.
* Support learners to complete their competencies and/or qualification.
* Provide learners with prompt, accurate and constructive feedback on decisions.
Experience & Skills Needed
* Foundation degree in clinical healthcare (Health Assistant Practitioner, Nursing Associate) or Level 3 NVQ/Apprenticeship in Healthcare (HCA or SHCA).
* Up to date experience of working in a clinical healthcare setting.
* Able to use Microsoft Office including email, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
* Health and physical abilities sufficient for the post (reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act/Disability Discrimination Act).
* Able to stand/sit for long periods while in the office or classroom.
* Able to work in a clinical environment to train/assess learners and maintain personal competence.
* Shift coverage can be negotiated but core hours from 8‑4 Monday‑Friday.
Qualifications & Training Required
* Foundation degree in clinical healthcare, Health Assistant Practitioner or Nursing Associate, or Level 3 NVQ/Apprenticeship in Healthcare (HCA or SHCA).
Desirable Criteria
* Assessor or mentor qualification (e.g., TAQA award to assess NVQs or apprenticeships).
* Acting as a Care Certificate Champion.
* Experience of training, assessing, mentoring and supporting others in the workplace.
