Job Title: HR Advisor (Temporary ER Advisor)
The HR Advisor could be based at any of the sites including Brighton (main), Haywards Heath, and Worthing, but must be able to travel to all locations. This is a 6-month temporary ER Advisor role focusing on absence management cases, with a hybrid working pattern of 2 or 3 days on-site. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
Responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload in an advisory capacity, ensuring cases are handled appropriately and promptly.
2. Prioritize work and follow-up tasks daily, collaborating with the Manager and key stakeholders to manage changing priorities.
3. Schedule cases to ensure they progress within agreed timescales.
4. Support and advise managers dealing with complex sickness/absence cases, both long and short term, including providing regular sickness absence reports to help reduce sickness rates year on year.
5. Review and analyze workforce data, providing monthly reports on key KPIs related to sickness.
6. Provide risk-based advice on redeployment, ill health, retirement, or termination in accordance with employment legislation and organizational policies.
7. Design and deliver training sessions for managers on people management topics, HR policies, and procedures as needed.
8. Lead the drafting, formulation, and implementation of new policies and procedures, updating existing ones based on feedback and legislative changes.
Candidate Requirements
Strong experience in high-volume ER, particularly in absence management (handling 15+ cases), and solid knowledge of Employment Law are essential.
