Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working.

There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3, reflecting the incorporation of the top-up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum). This will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and organized administrator to recruit as an Audio Typist/Admin Support. The post will be based within the General Surgery Directorate, performing a range of administrative and secretarial duties within the Vascular service.

The successful candidate will work well as part of a team, be flexible to the needs of the service, and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will liaise with professionals and patients.


Main duties of the job

* Provide comprehensive and high-quality secretarial and administrative support within the Vascular service.
* Liaise professionally with colleagues, patients, and guardians, undertaking a wide spectrum of administrative duties.
* Manage and prioritize workload using experience and initiative, working independently to adhere to policies and procedures.
* Carry out duties as defined by the Directorate Support Manager and clinical leads to meet service needs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

Essential criteria

* Experience working within an NHS or healthcare environment.
* Previous secretary or administrative experience.
* Experience in call handling.

Desirable criteria

* Experience as a medical secretary.
* Experience handling sensitive discussions with patients or the public.


Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Knowledge of systems - CWS, WPAS, Med Secs.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Good standard of education.
* RSA I and II Typing and audio typing or equivalent.

Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of Oracle.
