About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on designing machinery. You will be focusing on improving existing product lines, the research & development behind new product lines and solving engineering challenges. You'll work closely with the design team to deliver innovative solutions to major manufacturers. This is a technically engaging position with scope for career development, especially as the business expands its design capabilities.
Responsibilities
Design and develop machinery using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
Create models, drawings, and bills of materials from concept sketches
Collaborate with sales, applications, production, and controls engineering teams
Produce drawing packs for manufacturing and ensure compliance with safety standards
Visit manufacturing and customer sites for testing, troubleshooting, and technical supportCandidate ProfileWe welcome applicants with a strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with experience in:
Special-purpose machine design
Sheet metal, structural frameworks, and machining
3D CAD (SolidWorks/Inventor) and 2D layout work (AutoCAD)
Engineering calculations, Excel, FEA, and CFD (beneficial but not essential)Benefits
