Please note that the Combined Authority will consider requests for part-time working and/or job share. We’re excited to be recruiting a Project Assistant to join our Transport Infrastructure (Development and Construction) team.
This role is central to helping the Combined Authority deliver high-quality transport improvement schemes across the region. As a Project Assistant, you will play an important part in supporting the development and construction of projects that enhance connectivity, accessibility, and the overall travel experience for the people of West Yorkshire.
Our Transport Infrastructure (Development and Construction) team leads the direct delivery of major transport infrastructure on behalf of the Combined Authority. The team works collaboratively with district partners, statutory bodies, and private sector developers to bring projects from concept to completion. Their current portfolio includes a wide range of schemes, such as new and upgraded bus and rail station -including Elland Rail Station, Huddersfield Bus Station, and Dewsbury Bus Station, as well as wider infrastructure improvements like the Rail Accessibility Programme.

The Role
Reporting into the Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
· Supporting the team in the delivery and planning of projects and be responsible for the delivery of work packages within larger projects and initiatives.
· Leading project administration and document control.
· Organising & taking part in project meetings and undertaking project reporting.

About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· Educated to a degree level or have equivalent practical experience of working in a similar role.
· Experience of prioritising, planning, and organising workloads to manage expectations and deadlines.
· Supporting the delivery of projects to time, scope and budget in a fast-paced business change environment.
· Proven experience of confidently and professionally conveying information both written and oral in a clear, concise and persuasive style.
· Fosters good working relations across the organisation, building effective stakeholder relationships.
