The Commercial Manager will lead commercial (procurement) management across high-volume, fast-moving portfolios in building, civil engineering, maintenance and renewal projects and critical infrastructure support contracts.
Responsibilities
* Develop commercial (procurement) strategies and support pre-contract activities to ensure projects are set up for success
* Collaborate with internal teams, understand stakeholder needs, and build strong supplier relationships
* Navigate multiple projects at various stages, bringing clarity, structure, and momentum
* Oversee contractor performance under framework agreements, lead contract negotiations and risk/value assessments
* Guide and develop a high-performing commercial (procurement) team delivering saving and efficiency targets.

Skills and Knowledge
* Strong Commercial acumen
* Knowledge of railway and/or construction industry conditions of contract
* Experienced negotiator
* Experience of resolution of construction contract disputes
* Relevant railway/construction experience
* Knowledge of commercial contract management
* Good communication skills
* Ideally you will also have experience of managing and developing a team of staff
