About the role
My name is Barbara, my support and friends call me Barbs. I need someone to help support me 24/7 with my small and friendly team in my own separate flat at Grove Court. I will need you to be patient, calm with a good sense of humour, whilst able to be firm with me at times. You should be pro-active and able to complete a wide range of tasks to help promote my independence and control. Once you have settled in, you will be lone working with me and helping me with a variety of life skills like: my personal care, cooking healthy choices (within my eating and drinking plan), cleaning and shopping. After some training, you will also be expected to complete record keeping and recording information on our IT systems. You will also be able to liaise with healthcare professionals, client finance for my personal spending and sometimes staffing agencies to confirm arrangements.
I like going swimming, tearing books (this is a calming sensory activity for me), going out for meals, having short walks and enjoying the countryside so being able to drive my automatic car is imperative.
