, we are expanding our Family Law practice and seeking a talented and accredited
Family Law Solicitor / Supervisor
to lead and supervise the department.

Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will act as
Supervisor
under our Legal Aid Agency (LAA) Family Law Contract, ensuring compliance with all
supervisory and accreditation requirements
. You will also undertake a varied caseload of publicly funded and privately funded Family Law matters, including mediation work, while mentoring junior fee earners and ensuring high professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise all Family Law work under the firm's LAA Family Law and Family Mediation contracts.
* Ensure compliance with the Legal Aid Agency's Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) and contract requirements.
* Manage a personal caseload covering divorce, financial remedies, children law (public and private), domestic abuse, and related Family Law matters.
* Oversee casework quality, file reviews, and adherence to the firm's Quality Manual and compliance framework.
* Provide regular supervision meetings and guidance to fee earners and trainees.
* Contribute to the continued development and structure of the Family Law department.
* Liaise with the Legal Aid Agency, courts, counsel, and external partners.
* Engage in mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes in line with the firm's Mediation Contract.
* Uphold the firm's commitment to access to justice and outstanding client service.
Essential Qualifications and Accreditation
In accordance with the Legal Aid Agency Family Contract, the Supervisor
must hold one of the following accreditations:
* Membership of
The Law Society's Family Law Accreditation Scheme
; or
* Membership of
The Law Society's Children Law Accreditation Scheme
; or
* Be a
Resolution Accredited Specialist
, or have successfully completed
Part I (core assignment)
of the Resolution Specialist Accreditation Scheme.
Experience and Competencies
* Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in Family Law (including Legal Aid work).
* Proven experience supervising fee earners and maintaining compliance with LAA or Lexcel/SQM standards.
* Strong advocacy and client-care skills.
* Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
* Knowledge of mediation practice desirable (or willingness to train as a mediator).
* Commitment to ethical practice, teamwork, and professional excellence.
