This new role will be vital in developing and managing the learning and development service within the business; supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our people development strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge required to operate safely and effectively within the lifting industry, while also identifying opportunities to expand our training offerings externally.

Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build and execute a comprehensive training strategy aligned with business goals.
* Ensure training programs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements specific to the lifting sector.
* Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, using feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
* Leverage deep understanding of the lifting industry to identify emerging trends, technologies, and training needs.
* Develop and promote external training offerings to clients, partners, and industry bodies.
* Work with CPCS and NOCN to ensure accreditation standards are maintained.
* Represent the company at industry events, forums, and training networks to build relationships and enhance visibility.
* Champion a culture of continuous learning across all departments.
* Design and deliver engaging learning experiences for employees at all levels, including onboarding, technical training, leadership development, and compliance.
* Manage the company's online learning portal, including the design of new course content and monitoring completion rates.
* Support managers in identifying training needs and career development pathways.
* Manage the day-to-day booking of training to deliver an exceptional end user service experience and ensure all programs comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
* Work closely with QHSE team to align training with operational excellence.
* Manage the department P&L.
* Manage and develop the training team
Person Specification
* Experience of the lifting sector
* NEBOSH qualification desirable
* Fully qualified Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) D34
* Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and online learning development tools
* Experience of appropriate training to a high standard
* Experience of identifying learning needs, designing interventions, and evaluating success of a programme
* Experience of developing and running a learning and development department
* Managing a P&L
* Evidence of initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects
