Solihull Council are currently recruiting for Graduate opportunities within Corporate Property Services, starting in Autumn 2025. These 24-month fixed term graduate internships are a great opportunity to gain exposure to a forward thinking local authority; helping to improve lives and services for the residents of Solihull. As a graduate based in our Corporate Property Services Team within the Resources Directorate you will gain broad experience of working within a Public Sector organisation and the Construction industry. Working alongside experienced Surveyors, you will be responsible for a range of property maintenance and repairs services at Council premises within the Borough. Our Corporate Property Services Team are a team of professionals specialising in Property Maintenance; Reactive Repairs, Cyclical Servicing, Planned and Minor Works. The portfolio of buildings includes public sector buildings; social housing, schools, academies and corporate buildings. The team form part of the Authorities Corporate Landlord structure providing all Hard Facilities Management as well as operating a highly successful trading arm providing services to external clients. You will have: A degree in building surveying and an interest in pursuing a surveyor career path. Knowledge and understanding of the role and responsibilities of a local authority. Experience of analysing, interpreting, and summarising varied information from a variety of sources and providing clear recommendations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise reports and prepare and deliver effective presentations. Experience and knowledge of computer aided design and construction software During your time as a graduate, you will receive training and support to start working towards your CIOB Chartered Membership. Your training programme with be designed to ensure that you are able to demonstrate the required level of knowledge, skills, and behaviours associated with becoming chartered. Achieving this qualification enables you to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Building(CIOB). Why Solihull Council?
