1WTE Substantive and 1WTE fixed Term until 31/03/2025
Successful candidates will be appointed at a Band 7 grade(although, in some circumstances starting at a Band 8a grade may be agreed dependant on previous experience in an NHS Band 8a role), moving to 8a once they have completed essential competencies required for the role. Training, support and mentoring will be provided to obtain these.

We are looking to fill a Substantive and a Fixed term vacancy(fixed term post until end of March 2025) to work within our existing APP/FCP team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. Our team delivers FCP services in Barnet and Enfield and work alongside Orthopaedic secondary care consultants.
Posts will include working across the Trust sites and within GP practices
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will have significant postgraduate experience of working with patients with complex MSK conditions; working within a bio-psychosocial approach. They will share responsibility for supporting less experienced staff working with this patient group. They will be expected to participate in the teaching and training of colleagues and other health care professionals as appropriate.
The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and passionate and have the motivation to encourage and facilitate best practice. We are looking for an individual who is an excellent communicator and team player.
About us
The Advanced Practice team at Barnet and Chase Farm work collaboratively with the Orthopaedic, Pain and Rheumatology departments and are involved with numerous Quality Improvement and clinical practice group projects for the Trust. Our multidisciplinary Therapy Services department is committed to development and offers a large range of in-house and external training. You will be encouraged to develop your clinical, managerial and leadership skills. We have links with local universities and provide opportunities for post-graduate teaching.
The Musculoskeletal Health Hub in Enfield is a proof of concept initiative that is being delivered through the clinical partnership between The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Trust and the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The aim of this initiative is to improve the health outcomes for patients with musculoskeletal conditions whilst addressing health inequalities and equity of access. The new hub will create new and innovative pathways to support the delivery of high quality care. The service will be underpinned with a focus on research and quality improvement, which will provide clinicians with opportunities to understand their impact and make continual improvements to the services delivered.

Job responsibilities
To work as an autonomous practitioner providing advanced physiotherapy assessment and management to a specific, highly specialised clinical caseload that frequently have complex and/or chronic conditions, without supervision; interpreting and analysing clinical and non-clinical data to form accurate diagnoses and prognoses
To develop comprehensive management and treatment plans, utilising a wide range of treatment skills to formulate a specialised empowering and progressive programme of care; communicating with other members of the MDT, referring practitioners, relatives and carers on the best course of intervention
To work as an APP, assess and manage patients, who frequently present with complex conditions, in Orthopaedic outpatient clinics after direct referral from their General Practitioner. This involves advanced clinical reasoning skills, requesting of investigations to assist in the formulation of a diagnosis whilst working unsupervised
To work as an FCP, assessing and managing patients who previously would have seen their GP, This involves advanced clinical reasoning skills, requesting of investigations to assist in the formulation of a diagnosis whilst working unsupervised and managing the care pathway.
