Accounts Assistant – Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (1‑hour lunch break)

The role is for a hand‑on and experienced Accounts Assistant to join the team based in Brierley Hill. The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid background in administrative and accounting tasks. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office supporting the wider team, maintaining accurate financial and administrative records, and ensuring effective communication across the company.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily office operations, maintaining an organised and efficient workspace.
* Handle incoming calls and correspondence with professionalism and courtesy.
* Process sales and purchase ledgers, issue invoices and credit notes.
* Manage subcontractor payments and complete CIS submissions via HMRC.
* Assist with bookkeeping duties using Sage 50 Accounts, including invoicing and reconciliations.
* Prepare month‑end financial reconciliations and reports.
* Perform online banking duties and manage petty cash transactions.
* Run and oversee payroll using Sage 50 Payroll.
* Maintain and organise HR documentation.
* Prepare letters, documents, and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Organise meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements as required.
* Support the team with general clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and photocopying.
* Coordinate and manage a small company vehicle fleet.
Skills & Experience
* Proven office experience with a strong administrative background.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Proven experience using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll.
* Strong financial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
* Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a small, busy team.
* Previous clerical or administrative experience is desirable.
