Purpose of the Role (Overview): * Working within the design team to test and fault-find early prototype electronics sub-assemblies * Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and avionics assemblies in accordance with company test procedures. * Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from drawings and diagrams. * May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. · May assist in the selection and set-up of specialised test equipment. Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for testing of electronic sub-assembly/assembly by using approved test equipment and subject to company test procedures and circuit diagrams. * Diagnosing faults down to component level. * Checking that the production schedules and drawings are appropriate and/or the right issues. * Responsible for the interpretation of tuning to meet required perimeters and making adjustments to meet specification. * Responsible for the correct operation of company supplied test equipment. * Responsible for confirming that test equipment is within calibration. * Responsible for safety and condition of test equipment. * Responsible for the return of equipment to storage. * Responsible for the use and availability of (STTE) to type equipment on certain jobs. * Adjust on test and the tracking of electronic components. * Re-submitting product to assembly for re-soldering. * Return to assembly for soldering and receipt for final test. * Completion of Results Sheets including figures/plots and dates. * Adding in test equipment used and calibration date. * Stamp and date on batch card forwarded to Inspection. * Maintenance of register of calibration details and register for booking in and out of test equipment. * Responsible for working area and observing the organisation's SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) Policy and Procedures. * Test, set-up and fault find to component level, R/F, analogue and digital circuits. * To undertake other duties as considered reasonable by management from time to time. Outline of Competencies: * Managing Time & Priorities * Working in Teams * Business Operations, Systems and Processes * Business Improvement Qualifications and Experience required: * Must have test, set-up and fault finding to component level on R/F analogue and digital circuits * Test techniques background and experience working in a test environment * Experience of military or commercial avionics equipment would be an advantage * Manufacturing experience is desirable * IT literate * A good awareness of SHE issues * Good literacy and numeracy skill * Meticulous attention to detail * Good timekeeping skills * Computer literate * HND or equivalent in Electronics is preferred
