* Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
* Week 2: Thursday and Friday
* 09:00-12:00
About The Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of the laundry service at Meadowfield House. The successful candidate will ensure a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and garment care for residents and staff, while working both independently and as part of the wider domestic team.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect, sort, wash, dry, iron, and neatly fold laundry items including clothing, bedding, and towels.
* Operate laundry machinery (washers, dryers, irons) safely and efficiently.
* Follow correct procedures for handling soiled or contaminated laundry.
* Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents promptly.
* Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment.
* Monitor stock levels of detergents and laundry supplies and report shortages when needed.
* Adhere to all infection control, health and safety, and organisational policies.
* Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
Person Specification
Essential
* Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards.
* Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a laundry, cleaning, or housekeeping role.
* Experience working in a care, or healthcare environment.
