Animal Care Tutor
We are working on behalf of a specialist education provider to recruit an Animal Care Tutor based in Margate, Kent. This rewarding role combines vocational teaching, practical animal care, and learner support within a unique outdoor learning environment. Working closely with the Farm Manager and education team, you will deliver engaging animal care and land‑based learning sessions that help learners develop vocational, personal, and employability skills while building confidence, independence and workplace readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging animal care and land based learning sessions
* Support learners through practical animal care activities and farm based projects
* Embed maths, English, employability and personal development skills within the curriculum
* Assist with the day to day care, welfare and husbandry of a range of animals
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, animal welfare and learner engagement
* Support learners with a range of educational needs within an inclusive learning environment
* Monitor learner progress, complete assessments and maintain accurate records
* Support examinations and accreditation requirements where applicable
* Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a positive and supportive learning experience

The Candidate
* Experience teaching Animal Care, Land‑Based Studies, or other vocational subjects
* Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners
* Experience supporting learners with additional educational needs, learning difficulties, or challenging behaviours is advantageous
* Hold a relevant teaching qualification
* Qualified in Animal Management, Agriculture, Land‑Based Studies, or a related discipline
* Practical experience working with animals, farms, smallholdings, or land‑based environments
* Organised, adaptable, and confident delivering engaging hands‑on learning experiences
* Able to create inclusive and supportive learning environments
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required
The Package
* Salary £40,000 DOE
* Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
* Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (Term Time)

Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for
