Credit Control Clerk – Temp Ongoing (Minimum 10 Weeks) – Up to £33,000 | Hybrid | Derbyshire | Immediate Start
We’re supporting a long-standing client with the recruitment of an experienced Credit Control Clerk to join their finance team on a temporary ongoing basis (minimum 10 weeks), with an immediate start available.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of your own ledger, maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure timely cash collection within a collaborative and supportive environment. The business offers hybrid working, flexible hours, and an early Friday finish, based from their modern Derbyshire headquarters.

The Role
Working closely with customer service and account teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring invoices are paid within agreed terms and customer ledgers remain in excellent condition.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing your own debtor ledger, ensuring timely cash collection and resolving queries efficiently.
* Investigating and resolving payment issues at source to prevent reoccurrence.
* Reconciling customer statements, allocating payments, and maintaining accurate records.
* Providing copy invoices, proof of delivery, and monthly statements as required.
* Monitoring customer payment behaviour and assessing credit risk, including recommending credit limits and credit holds.
* Sending reminders, chasing overdue accounts, and escalating where necessary.
* Maintaining professional communication with customers and internal departments.
* Uploading documents to customer portals and assisting with new account setups.

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable, managing end-to-end ledger responsibilities.
* Possesses strong communication and negotiation skills, comfortable engaging with customers.
* Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and accuracy with large data volumes.
* Is confident using Excel and ERP systems.
* Is proactive, organised, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
* Enjoys building relationships and solving problems collaboratively.
