Job Opportunity: Head of Fund Accounting
Base salary up to £150,000 plus a good bonus and benefits.
My client is a global alternative investment group headquartered in London with assets under management exceeding $20 billion. They are seeking to hire a new Head of Fund Accounting responsible for financial control and managing the financial reporting process for their portfolio of real estate funds. Main duties include:
1. Overseeing quarterly financial, investor, and regulatory reporting.
2. Managing the production of annual financial statements across funds and overseeing the audit process.
3. Managing Administrators to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
4. Collaborating with Deal Operations, Tax, and external advisors to manage fund flow, capitalization, and investor notices related to investments and divestments.
5. Managing fund cash and liquidity.
6. Monitoring compliance with Fund LPA and side letter agreements.
7. Responding to external investor queries and internal investor relations demands.
8. Reviewing and preparing investor financial reports, fund analysis, and regulatory reports (AIFMD, Solvency II, etc.).
9. Managing fund cash and treasury positions.
10. Handling the complexity of fund structures and governing documents for tax planning.
11. Working with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit on inquiries and periodic reviews.
12. Performing ongoing and ad hoc analysis of fund performance, including calculation of IRRs, Carried Interest, and other performance metrics.
13. Overseeing SPV activities, including managing information flow between local service providers and Administrators.
14. Leading annual due diligence visits of third-party administrators (TPAs).
15. Supporting and collaborating with strategy controllers on operational, reporting, and governance matters.
Candidate Profile:
To be considered for this high-profile leadership role, you should be a qualified accountant (preferably with a background in practice), with a minimum of 8 years PQE. Experience should include exposure to UK, European, and Asian closed-end fund structures, IFRS, and familiarity with Fund Administration, Private Equity & Venture Capital, Asset Management, and Performance Analysis. Strong knowledge of fund financials and reporting issues, along with advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, is essential.
