SEN Teacher - Communication Difficulties (KS2)

About the Role
Academics are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN provision in Maidstone, supporting pupils with communication difficulties. This role involves delivering a KS2 curriculum that is carefully adapted to meet the individual needs of learners, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.
You will work with small class sizes from 5-10 in a group, supported by experienced teaching assistants and a multidisciplinary team, in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the KS2 National Curriculum
* Support pupils with communication needs, including speech, language, and social interaction difficulties
* Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
* Use a range of strategies and interventions to support communication and learning
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and reports
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families, and external professionals
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
* Has experience teaching KS2, ideally within an SEN or specialist setting
* Has a strong understanding of communication difficulties (e.g. SLCN, ASD)
* Is patient, creative, and committed to inclusive education
* Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and parents
